What is CallApp?
CallApp is an easy to use application that enables you to get information about the people you communicate & interact with.

Why do some of the icons have a question mark on them?
CallApp displays a question mark whenever it is not certain that the information displayed is correct.
You may click on the question mark to verify the accuracy of the information displayed.

What can I do in the contact details screen?
The contact details screen is highly interactive, tap any text or icon to interact or obtain information.
To initiate a call, simply tap the phone number displayed at the bottom of the screen.

How do I interact with a contact?
To interact with a contact, click the CallApp icon in the contact list or in the contact details screen and select one of the CallApp actions.

How do I access CallApp’s contact details screen?
There are three ways to do so:
- Launch CallApp and from the contact list select the desired contact
- Launch your regular contacts apps. Clicking on the contact’s image will display a list of badges. Click on the CallApp badge in order to open the contact details screen.
- Launch your regular contacts apps. Select a contact and scroll down to the profiles section where you can click to view the CallApp profile

How do I perform actions such as mute, headset and hold ?
From the CallApp contact details screen, simply press back and the regular in call screen will appear.

How do I return to CallApp after accessing the dial pad?
Either drag down the notifications bar and select “Press here to return to CallApp” or go to the open tasks window (If you are not using ICS – hold down the home button) and click the CallApp icon.

How do I add a contact from the call screen?
Whenever a number is not listed in your phonebook an ‘add’ icon will appear next to it. Click it to add the contact to your phonebook.

How do I edit / delete / rename a contact?
On the contact details screen press the contact name, then click the edit icon.

How do I change the social network linked to a contact?
Changing a the social network linked to a contact can be achieved as follows:
- Through the settings screen:
- Select “Link X’s social networks”.
- Select a social network to search for the contact’s profile.
- Through the contact screen:A long press on the contact’s photo will prompt “Is this the right picture?, clicking”No” will take you to the social network search screen where you can search for thethe contact’s correct profile.

How do I customize CallApp?
CallApp is highly customizable, click the ‘settings’ button and look for the ‘Customize’ section.

Why doesn’t “add caller to a call” works?
Pressing the “add caller to a call” icon, takes you to the dial pad screen, as expected, where you can add an additional caller.

How can CallApp provide me with more pictures of my contacts and more accurate information?
To receive futher information on contacts, connect more social networks to your CallApp profile. You can do this from the ‘settings’ screen, this will improve the accuracy of the results provided by CallApp.

Why can’t I move CallApp to the SD card?
CallApp cannot be moved to the SD card due to a limitation imposed by the Android OS. Android does not allow applications residing on the SD card to perform sync operations. Syncing contact information is a fundamental feature used by all successful communication management solutions including CallApp.

Which permissions does CallApp require and what are they for?

Emailed CallApp support, but you did not get a reply?
At CallApp, we do our best to reply to all support emails within 48 hours.
If you’ve emailed our support and you still haven’t received a reply then it might be because our reply ended up in your bulk mail (spam) folder. Please make sure your email provider / client does not block or mark support@callapp.com as spam.

Do I have to use CallApp for all calls to get Caller ID / to block someone?
While it is highly recommended to use CallApp as your default dialer, it is not required in order to identify and/or block callers.

Can I send free text messages with CallApp?
When opening a contact with CallApp, the application will show you all the means of communication with that particular contact. This includes, WhatsApp, Viber, Skype, Google Talk and others. Simply click on the application’s icon and text like there is no tomorrow.

How much does CallApp cost?
Contrary to other Caller ID providers, CallApp is completely FREE!

Can CallApp identify the other caller even if they do not have CallApp installed?
Yes, CallApp will be able to identify the other caller whether they have CallApp installed or not. However, if both parties have CallApp installed, it will be easier for them to interact using CallApp’s interaction utilities such as: Share location, photo, contact, etc.

Is CallApp available for iPhone, BlackBerry, Windows or Symbian phones?
As of now CallApp is only available for Android phones. CallApp for iOS is expected to be available in a few months. If you’d like to be notified when CallApp for iPhone is released, click here.

What if I do not want a contact to know that I am blocking them?
CallApp believes that you have the right to block calls from others without disclosing this information with anyone. The only way they may know that you are blocking them is if you decide to inform them.

Why does the phone ring even if I blocked calls from that contact?
The built in dialer on some phones is notified of incoming calls before CallApp. In such cases your phone may ring briefly or a notification may appear when receiving a call from a blocked caller.

How do I modify the information associated with my phone number?
In order to change the information, go to the settings screen, select the Personal details setting and then you may modify your name, email and your one line description.

Can other people look up my phone number in CallApp?
Absolutely not. Access to CallApp’s servers is performed using an encrypted and proprietary protocol. The protocol does not support reverse lookup queries, meaning that the CallApp client may not search by a name. Moreover, the protocol ensures that a CallApp client does not abuse the server by making countless queries. Those are limited for several dozens every day.

Can I wipe my information from CallApp?
you can still unlist your number from CallApp services by logging onto http://www.callapp.com/unlist and CallApp will not search the CallApp Universal Contact Book for your phone. (Note, however, that your details may still be available to us through public and open directories).

Will CallApp text or Call any of my contacts without my consent?
Absolutely not.

Does CallApp sell names or phone numbers?
Absolutely not.

Can I download my contacts or export my call history from CallApp?
At the moment, CallApp does not support these features.

Can CallApp identify Private, “Unavailable” or Blocked numbers?
CallApp cannot identify the above since the number is not provided by the phone operator and hence CallApp cannot display any details. Our recommendation is that you simply stop answering such calls. You have every right to know who is calling you.
